Liwanag sa Ventana

Ako’y umulat sa umagang di nasaksihan

Pag-akyat ni Haring Araw sa tronong kalangitan,

May liwanag pa ngunit puso’y nangangarap

Para sa pinabagong buhay, pag-asa’y makalap.

Libre Mangarap

Yearender

Something to procrastinate with while the year closes…

What did you do in 2006 that you’ve never done before?
This is going to be a long list… I’m going to keep it as short as I can.

Ride a plane with a nun.

Went on a shopping spree.

Went up to a lounge… in New York… where I had to show an I.D. proving I was over 21, got invited up to a lounge in New York by a very attractive Frenchman… and afterwards walked around a few blocks (something I learned about parking in N.Y.) at night at a strange city.

Gamble in casinos. (Ngee, slots lang.)

Received so much amount of money.

Had major surgery.

Rode a BMW. Awesome!

Go to the Grand Canyon.

Go to San Diego. And that Little Italy region there.

Go to Sausalito.

Eat authentic Chicken Terriyaki in Japan.

Score a 99 on the Magic Mic.

Have a dengue scare. Usually, it’s for real.

Have a bad recit.

Have a very good recit. (Same prof. as with the bad one.)

Wear make-up to anywhere for no occasion.

Earn a Starbucks planner. My last 2 were gifts.

Hate a professor so much.

Hurt my mother so bad. Thank God for unconditional love. I love you, Ma.

Believe in De La Salle’s motto.. “It’s not how you start but how you end it.” Of course they say that during basketball games but I’m pertaining to the year.

I could go on but I won’t.

Did you keep your New Year’s resolution, and will you make more for next year?
I don’t remember those I made for 2006. I better write those for 2007.

They’re not close to me… but I do have another grandnephew.

Did anyone close to you die?
No. Thank you, Lord.

What countries did you visit?
Japan and United States.

What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
I have peace of mind, I’d like to keep that. I’d like better grades. A driver’s license is necessary. How about a green card? A job? The courage to leave law school?

What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
My birthday. The first of 23 away from my mother.

What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Reclaiming my good self! Honesty is the best policy!

What was your biggest failure?
Law school, ano pa nga ba. I’m still enrolled eh.

Oh yes. I hate that person so much if thoughts could kill that freak would have ants eating those eyeballs, rats eating away those feet, and rusty fan knives would be stabbing the whole length of that monster, mercilessly, 89 stabs per minute. I’d go on but I’d be sinning too much. No monster better come my way.

Lying when it mattered to tell the truth. Everyone lies. You cannot be 100% truthful, because sometimes other people need to hear lies. But when you ought to tell the truth, you ought to tell the truth.

Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
