so pagkabunot ng topic,
hingang malalim,
pero kahit gaano mo ka favorite yung topics na nabunot mo, don’t feel too safe.
kasi labitag is omnipotent! he can ask you anything! from something about your picked topic to something unrelated to the topic (mga kabilang chapter!) to something like,
“What do you call a pig’s nose?”

Sabi niya, “How many contracts are there under REAL contracts?” Sabi ko 2? Eee! “There are four. What are these? They are in Latin since these are Roman Contracts.”
“Wow. Really, helpful, sir. Now that you’ve mentioned they’re in Latin, the more that I can’t name them!”
“Hahaha! One of them sounds like the Chinese year this year!”
“Year of the Pig?”
“Yes!”
“Pig?” (Taas isang kilay. sige nga, give a latin word that sounds like pig!!!)
“Yes! O, what do you call the pig’s nose?”
“Sir, snout?”
“HAHAHAHA!” as in kung sa chat yun, LOL. “You go home na. You could’ve gotten a higher grade but your mind is blank!”
Ako naman, na-alert. “Sir, is there anything more to increase my grade?”
“Hahaha! No more.”

Di ako hiningan ng notebook ni sir, unlike paghabol niya kay Sop for her notebook. And he said wala nang itataas pa ang grade ko, hanggang dun na lang. So I’m taking it, di na tataas ang grade ko kung magsubmit pa ko ng notebook. Since wala na kong notebook!

Just so you know, the four real contracts from the Roman Law are:

1) Mutuum or Mutual

2) Depositum or Deposit

3) Commodatum or Commodate

4) PIGNUS or Pledge

Tadaaaaa! If only Sir L a b i t ag was reading this. He’d be mighty proud of my post-orals research skills!

I feel so happy I’m free!!!

Obsession: Mind-Travel to Islands and Shores

Who, in their right and stressed minds, would pass up a chance to see the world?

If I won the Cali Mega Millions, heck! I’d take all my favorite people (That list would be produced later, I’m still sorting and planning who goes when and where. Cut me some slack, my family would have quit our dayjobs for a year or so but the rest of the relatives shouldn’t and my friends are employed or in school. Timing is everything! I told you this is effort-ful!) and my labrador (Sorry, Rusty, the world just isn’t as friendly to rotts..) and just GO! (I’ll leave Rusty the Rottie and Oreo the Dalmatian in the K-9 Training Camps so they’d have their vacation time, too. Or send Rusty to Germany to find his hot bitch. Hahaha! Or just get them nannies!)

I’ll use up dozens of passports! And since I’ll be damn carefree about money, I’ll be obsessive-compulsive and just travel A-Z!

So heto.. my first destination… sa letrang Aaah!

AmanResorts!

Although I’d love to see all of Zecha’s resorts, well, that’s too tiring. If I could buy my way into the company, the better! I earn na, I’ll get discounts pa! Kuuuripooooooooot! :)

The architecture of this chain is so alluring because of the symmetry. I love the architects. So cheers to them!

I’ll definitely include Amanjiwo, Indonesia. And since it’s Indonesia, I’ll take Tita Laura and Family. Then we’ll ask her again, bakit maputi siya kaysa ibang Indonesian! Hahaha!

AmanJiwo Collage

Waaah! Stockholder! Stockholder!

Oh and I’d set up a scholarship that would lead to a career related to every place I’d go to. And for these types of places, that would either be Architecture or Botany. If you’ve been blessed with a lot, you must try to give back a hundredfold. Scholarhips would help a bright mind, inspire and invigorate the field, and of course would enrich bodies of knowledge. How about investing in a computer game? Where in the World is Pollywonka? Hehehe! Though it’s not so original, Broderbund might like to update the Carmen Sandiego game.. Better pictures, newer information! O, Computer Science naman yun with commissioned photography, etc.! Teka teka wait.. di ba criminal si Carmen?! So original nga kung ako yung bida! Daydreamer turned Millionaire! They’d just have to think of another name for that game… Stalkers, Inc.?

Unfortunately, I have no plans of adopting a child from any country I’ll visit. Bayaan niyo na si Angie maging Mother Earth. Shempre nickname basis na kami ng mga Jolie-Pitt. Rich na eh! We’d probably discuss U.N. Projects over brunch.

O siya siya! Hatinggabi na wala pa kong notes sa Leg.Prof.!

Series: Obsessions

•February 28, 2007 • Leave a Comment

Hey folks! I’m going to begin this multi-part series of posts about what I actually obsess about, in my dreams. Hahaha! ‘Actually’ yet it’s just an elaborate wishlist. Ha! It’s my blog so.. obey, mortals!

The main categories would be Art, Fashion, Tech, People, and Places.

Of course, those are quite general, indeed.

This series is inspired by my mega-obsession about winning the lottery. Mind you, the California Mega Millions and not the Super Lotto in my beloved Pinas.

This is effort extraordinaire especially that my dog is just as depressed as I am and that my finals are coming up in 3 weeks. O-M-G!!

So tara let’s, tara tara tara let’s, obsess with me! Let me guide you to the dark side of daydreaming!

Nasaan ang liwanag?

Liwanag sa Ventana

Ako’y umulat sa umagang di nasaksihan

Pag-akyat ni Haring Araw sa tronong kalangitan,

May liwanag pa ngunit puso’y nangangarap

Para sa pinabagong buhay, pag-asa’y makalap.

Yearender

Something to procrastinate with while the year closes…

What did you do in 2006 that you’ve never done before?
This is going to be a long list… I’m going to keep it as short as I can.

Ride a plane with a nun.

Went on a shopping spree.

Went up to a lounge… in New York… where I had to show an I.D. proving I was over 21, got invited up to a lounge in New York by a very attractive Frenchman… and afterwards walked around a few blocks (something I learned about parking in N.Y.) at night at a strange city.

Gamble in casinos. (Ngee, slots lang.)

Received so much amount of money.

Had major surgery.

Rode a BMW. Awesome!

Go to the Grand Canyon.

Go to San Diego. And that Little Italy region there.

Go to Sausalito.

Eat authentic Chicken Terriyaki in Japan.

Score a 99 on the Magic Mic.

Have a dengue scare. Usually, it’s for real.

Have a bad recit.

Have a very good recit. (Same prof. as with the bad one.)

Wear make-up to anywhere for no occasion.

Earn a Starbucks planner. My last 2 were gifts.

Hate a professor so much.

Hurt my mother so bad. Thank God for unconditional love. I love you, Ma.

Believe in De La Salle’s motto.. “It’s not how you start but how you end it.” Of course they say that during basketball games but I’m pertaining to the year.

I could go on but I won’t.

Did you keep your New Year’s resolution, and will you make more for next year?
I don’t remember those I made for 2006. I better write those for 2007.

Did anyone close to you give birth?
They’re not close to me… but I do have another grandnephew.

Did anyone close to you die?
No. Thank you, Lord.

What countries did you visit?
Japan and United States.

What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
I have peace of mind, I’d like to keep that. I’d like better grades. A driver’s license is necessary. How about a green card? A job? The courage to leave law school?

What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
My birthday. The first of 23 away from my mother.

What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Reclaiming my good self! Honesty is the best policy!

What was your biggest failure?
Law school, ano pa nga ba. I’m still enrolled eh.

Did you suffer any illness or injury?
I had my dermoid cyst taken out by c-sec, does that count?

What was the best thing you bought?
My techy gadgets.

Whose behavior merited celebration?
Aya’s? How about my yearend behavior?
J

Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Mine. I never want to be that person ever again. Stupid and selfish.

Where did most of your money go?
Thankfully not to the person who has my ATM card. Bwahahaha! Unfortunately, most of my allowance money went to Blessing’s Photocopying Services!!!

What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Summer…

What songs will remind you of 2006?
Hesus Ng Aking Buhay

Compared to this time last year, are you…

– Sadder. My mom’s away.
ii. thinner or fatter? – Fatter. This is my fattest ever.
iii. richer or poorer? – Poorer in the purse, richer in spirit.

What do you wish you’d done more?
Be myself. Make decisions I’ll be happy about. Stop trying to please others.

What do you wish you’d done less of?
Procrastinating!!!

How many one-night stands?
None.

What was your favorite TV program?
Maging Sino Ka Man and Princess Hours. Grey’s Anatomy. Dr. House.

Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
Oh yes. I hate that person so much if thoughts could kill that freak would have ants eating those eyeballs, rats eating away those feet, and rusty fan knives would be stabbing the whole length of that monster, mercilessly, 89 stabs per minute. I’d go on but I’d be sinning too much. No monster better come my way.

What was the best book you read?
The Family Code?

What was your greatest musical discovery?
The iPod and soundtracks.

What did you want and get?
Everything.

What was your favorite film of this year?
Tough question.

What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Watched a horror flick with my cousins, went to Greenhills, drank a lot of fruit smoothies, lazed around. I turned 22.

What one thing could’ve made your year immeasurably satisfying?
This would be a real sin. A certain monster disappearing from the face of the planet.

How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
Nada. Still haven’t found the money and body to bare my style.

What kept you sane?
Friends in law school, my parents, and prayers.
Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Daniel Craig.

What political issue stirred you the most?
Too many to pay attention to. See, I don’t belong in law school. Law school only made me apathetic! Of course Charter Change.

Who did you miss?
College friends. J

Who was the best new person you met?
My blockies!

Tell us a valuable lesson you learned in 2006.
Be strong: in mind, body, and soul. That it’s okay not to be perfect.

What was the nicest thing that someone told you about yourself?
That I’m her reason for living. (My mom.)

The most touching experience you’ve had this year?
Basta.
I’m thankful I was born into this family, to such wonderful parents.

What did you like most about yourself this year?

Taking risks, and having the courage to own mistakes.

What did you hate most about yourself this year?
Lying when it mattered to tell the truth. Everyone lies. You cannot be 100% truthful, because sometimes other people need to hear lies. But when you ought to tell the truth, you ought to tell the truth.

Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
Saan man ako bumaling
Ika’y naroon
Tumalikod man sa ‘yo
Dakilang pag-ibig mo
Sa aki’y tatawag at magpapaalalang
Ako’y iyong iniibig
At siyang itatapat sa puso

Was 2006 a good year for you?
The worst and the best.

The group hugs.
What was your least favorite moment of the year?
Feeling the consequences of the lies.

At home.

Who were you with?
Family.

Where will you be when 2006 ends?
At home.

Do you have any New Year’s resolutions for 2007?
Be me. Owning my life.

May?

Yes.

How much money did you spend in 2006?
I don’t want to count.

What was your proudest moment of 2006?
Knowing I’m still loved.
What was your most embarrassing moment of 2006?
As if I’d tell you that.
J

If you could go back in time to any moment in 2006 and change something, what would it be?
If I did that I’d be in jail.
J

What are your plans for 2007?
Get serious.

How are you different now that the year has ended?
I don’t know yet.

What are your wishes for the new year?
End Global Warming. Those Polar Bears need us, gademit!

The Problem in Retrospect

•December 10, 2006 • Leave a Comment

I was reading through archives and I chance upon a conversation which stirred the question again.

God, if he knew who I was talking about and he was saying those things he said… God, my life would’ve been soooo different. Really different. I’d be the me I  wanted to be and I wouldn’t be this me whom I dread to be.

But like the first time that the question came up I gave myself a reality check. And that’s what I need, again. He doesn’t know.  Because if he did, knowing him and the kind of person he is and how he loves, the question wouldn’t have a chance to come up.

So poor me. Feeling for guys who don’t feel it for me. And if there was a guy who did, it was actually a momentary blindness from my end. What a life.
